How much does a band cost?
The cost of bands can vary wildly. We at The Band Company understand this and are able to ensure you find someone within budget. It is worth considering the following points when setting your budget:
Type of event; Generally a pub booking will cost less than a wedding. None of our artists will inflate their prices for weddings, we have a standard wedding fee pre agreed with each act.
Size of the band; generally the fee will increase with more musicians
Travel; if the band needs to travel their time, fuel & accommodation will need to be taken into account.
Demand; If your chosen act is in high demand this will reflect in fee & the quality of the performance
Genre; often some genres are cheaper than the big party bands.
Time of day/week/year; Bands may well offer discounts for afternoon & mid week performances as well as discounts during quiet periods (January as an example)
All of our acts are professional artists with a wealth of experience performing at a variety of events from local gigs through to high end corporate events & weddings. All of our acts are screened both musically and professionally to ensure they conduct themselves in a polite, professional manner both on and off stage. Their prices reflect these strict standards.
We have put together this rough guide for functions & weddings only to give you a realistic idea of fees. Please note this is meant as a guide only and the above factors will determine the exact fee.

What kind of acts do you provide?
We can provide provide any genre of music, even if it isn’t on our list, so please do tell us what you’re after and we will do all we can to get it for you.
How can I see a band perform before I book?
Here at The Band Agency we understand the importance of seeing a band perform live when making the decision on suitable entertainment. Should you wish to see your chosen acts live we will endeavor to find a live public performance where you can go and see them.
This isn’t always possible due to acts being busy with private functions or being out of your area, so we ensure our videos of our artists performing live are kept up to date which is a great way to get a good feel for the act you wish to book.
We can also provide references for any of our artists upon request
How long does a band play for?
As a standard we usually work on the basis the artists will play for 2 x 1 hour sets. This is usually more than sufficient for any event. Occasionally more (or longer) sets are required and we would be happy to talk you through your individual requirements. The same applies to shorter sets.
Will they learn songs that are not on their playlist?
If you require a particular song/songs please ask at the initial enquiry stage. Our bands will will learn a song for you but will need to ensure they have sufficient time to learn and arrange it properly.
Do you just provide music or other live entertainment?
We can also provide all forms of live entertainment such as DJ’s, Close-up Magicians, Jugglers, Fire eaters, Look-A-Likes, live karaoke bands etc etc etc. If you would like something other than music just ask email@example.com
Can you provide us a DJ or music in between the sets?
All of our quotations include CD/iPod music in between sets and up to 45 minutes after the performance as a standard. Most bands are happy, should you wish, to play your own choice of music through their system should you wish.
This eliminates the need for a DJ in the main. If you feel you would still like a DJ many of our bands offer this as an option or we can provide one from our books.
Where are your bands based?
The Band Company covers London and the South-East so most of our acts are based in this area. That said many of our acts will travel around the UK and we have contacts all over the UK so if you are organising an event further afield we would be happy to find the perfect act for your location. Dependant on the size of the act and how easy it is for the artist to unload in the equipment, an average set up time would be between one and one and a half hours. To ensure this process is a smooth as possible please ensure we are aware of any access issues at your venue.
How do I secure my booking?
One of the benefits of using The Band Company is that it is our policy is to contract every booking. Once you have decided on your artists and wish to proceed and book them, we send you a booking form to give us exact details of your booking and we use this to put a contract together. This contract agrees the terms that we have negotiated with you and the artist, which we sign as the booking agent and you sign as the client.
At this point we take a small deposit of 20% after which your booking is secure.
We send a separate contract to the artist to commit them to the agreed dates, fees and other details of your event.
A 20% deposit is taken at the point of booking. The balance is due to the artists directly on the day of performance. This can be paid in cash or by cheque, we will ask for your preferred payment method at the point of of booking. All of this is laid out in the booking terms of your contract.
